Biography: Ms. Juana Medina

     Greetings! My name is Ms. Juana Medina, and I am an experienced educator dedicated to shaping the minds of young learners. Currently, I have the privilege of teaching 3rd grade, where I work tirelessly to inspire and guide my students on their educational journey.  I am also the GATE Coordinator

      My own educational path began at the esteemed University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree. This solid academic foundation laid the groundwork for my lifelong commitment to the field of education. I continued my pursuit of knowledge at California State University, Dominguez Hills, where I obtained both my Teaching and Administrative Credentials. These credentials have equipped me with the skills and expertise necessary to make a lasting impact in the world of education.

     My roots in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) run deep, as I am a product of the very schools that I now serve. I attended LAUSD Elementary, Junior High, and High Schools in East Los Angeles and South Central Los Angeles. These formative years gave me a unique perspective and a profound understanding of the diverse backgrounds and challenges that many of my students face. This perspective has greatly shaped my teaching philosophy, emphasizing empathy, inclusivity, and the value of education in overcoming obstacles.

With over 25 years of dedicated service to the LAUSD, I have had the privilege of teaching across multiple grade levels, including first, second, and third grade. These years of experience have given me valuable insights into the developmental stages and learning needs of young students. I've always believed that education is a powerful tool that can transform lives, and I am deeply committed to providing the best possible learning experience for my students.

      As an educator, I firmly believe in fostering a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that allows students to thrive academically and personally. I am a passionate advocate for student success and am continuously seeking innovative ways to inspire a love for learning in my young scholars. It is my hope that, through education, I can contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also socially conscious and compassionate members of society.

     In conclusion, my journey as an educator is marked by a strong commitment to the LAUSD, a dedication to serving the community, and a profound belief in the transformative power of education.
